The grocery aisles

If your recipe needs it, we probably have it.

Four aisles of world groceries, a wall of spices, rice by the sack and bread that arrives warm every morning. The big shops stock what sells everywhere. We stock what our neighbours actually cook.

The spice shelves at Baraka
Spices and staples

The wall of spices.

Whole and ground spices sold at shop prices, not supermarket prices. Cumin, coriander, cardamom, sumac, za'atar, whole dried chillies and the blends your grandmother would approve of.

  • Basmati rice in 5kg, 10kg and 20kg sacks
  • Lentils, chickpeas and beans by weight
  • Olive oils, ghee and cooking fats
Fresh bread baked daily
Fresh every day

Bread in warm. Veg in early.

Flatbreads, naan and baguettes delivered warm each morning, usually gone by evening. Fruit and veg comes in from the market before we open, picked for how people here cook, coriander by the bunch, not the pinch.

  • Fresh flatbread and naan, daily
  • Seasonal fruit and veg at market prices
  • Fresh herbs, big bunches, small prices
Stocked grocery shelves
World foods

Home, whichever home you mean.

Turkish, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Somali, Arab and Afro-Caribbean shelves, stocked by request. If we don't carry something you cook with, tell the till and we'll do our best to get it in by next week.

  • Frozen parathas, samosas and halal ranges
  • Dates, nuts and sweets all year round
  • New lines added by customer request

Can't carry it all? Order the heavy stuff ahead.

Rice sacks, oil tins, flour and your meat order, packed and ready at the till. One trip, one boot load.
